How do you wish to be brave? is the question that Jamie
at Jamie's Studio asks us.
I wish to be BRAVE enough to search the darkness for the tiniest bit
of light. I've been reading The Dark Side of The Light Chasers, by
Debbie Ford, which is about acknowledging and owning those
parts of ourselves hidden in the Shadows, those parts
we don't want anyone to know about, parts even we have forgotten.
I bought the book about a year ago, knowing I needed to address
this as part of my spiritual path.
I knew it was coming.... well,.... it's time now. So I finally opened
the book and began reading.
Even though I've been silent lately, working on other things, I
need to take some time to work on this aspect of myself.
So far, I'm on Chapter 5 and have had a few Aha! moments, even
without doing the exercises at the end of each chapter. When I
finish, I'll read the book again and do them at that time.
I do SoulCollage but haven't explored this area of the practice
yet. I just "kind of" put it off. Ignored it. But I'm ready now.
The best thing about it, Debbie Ford says, is that within every
shadow is a gift, secreted away in the darkness, much as we would
hide a treasure. ( You just have to get past the Dragon first.)
So I have decided to look at it as a treasure hunt, to
see what gifts are buried within the dark Shadows.
That's my way to turn Fear into the Courage I need,
so I can be Brave enough to look without tightly shutting my
eyes and covering my face with my hands.
I'm open, I'm open. I'm ready to face the ugly parts of myself, the
Dragon, to see what gift it has hidden.
I will be Brave.
And to all of you who are also Wishcasting, that which you Wish for
yourself, I wish for you also. Be Brave. I will be Brave with you.
With much Love,
